Artist Profile :
Since arriving in the North West several years ago, Anthony Hill has devoted himself to transmitting the beauty of the region to the general public. - in particular the Lake District and the scenes of Lancashire. His subject matter is not restricted to landscape, however, but also includes street scenes, still lifes, portraits, figures and cafe scenes, which he paints in watercolours, oil, pastels, and ink, frequently mixed. Although for most of his life the artist has not been painting, he is virtually self taught. He has held ten solo exhibitions across the North West and has also exhibited in Manchester, London and Washington D. C. USA. At various times he has been represented in several Ribble Valley galleries. More of the artist's work can currently be seen at Ashton Memorial, Lancaster where he is exhibiting until 2nd May.
